Average rating
Buying sports kit online is mostly a problem of filtering, not of choice. Amazon UK carries an enormous catalogue, and the difficulty is working out which of forty near-identical listings is the one that suits how you actually train, walk, ride or camp. That is the job this site tries to do: organise that catalogue by sport, category and the attributes that genuinely change a purchase decision, and get out of the way.
How we choose what to show
Product ordering is mechanical, and deliberately so:
- Verified customer rating first, then review volume. A 4.8 average from eleven people is not stronger evidence than a 4.6 from three thousand, and the ordering reflects that.
- Published specifications — capacity, weight, waterproof rating, certification — for the comparison tables, taken from the product data rather than from marketing copy.
- Commission rate is never an input. See our affiliate disclosure.
Our “top rated” pages require at least 4.5 stars from 100 or more ratings. A category or filter page needs at least 8 products before we consider it worth putting in front of anyone — thinner than that and the page is not doing you a service.
What we do not do
- We do not sell anything. Every purchase happens on Amazon UK, under Amazon’s terms.
- We do not write fake reviews, invent editorial scores, or claim to have tested products we have not tested. Where our copy describes a product, it is describing published specifications and aggregated customer ratings — and it says so.
- We do not use countdown timers, “only 2 left” counters, invented discounts or exit-intent popups. Manufactured urgency is a tax on the reader’s attention.
- We do not accept payment for placement or inclusion.
Where our data comes from
Product information — titles, images, prices, ratings and review counts — comes from Amazon’s Product Advertising API. We do not scrape Amazon. Prices are a snapshot with the date shown beside them, and change frequently; the price accuracy note explains why and what to do about it.
Editorial standards
Most pages here are generated from the product catalogue and a set of rules rather than written one at a time — a category or filter page needs at least 3 products to exist and 8 before we put it in front of anyone. We do not assign our own numeric scores, and we do not claim to have tested products we have not tested. When we get something wrong, we correct it rather than quietly deleting it. The full rules are in our editorial policy.
Corrections
If something here is wrong — a specification, a price, a broken link, a product in the wrong category — we would rather know. Our editorial policy covers how we handle corrections, and contact is the fastest route.
